DescriptionA white metal medal with a bust of George Washington facing proper left on the obverse and an inscription on the reverse. The obverse reads “GEORGE WASHINGTON” around the perimeter and includes the name of the maker, “TWIGG,” below the bust. The reverse reads “GENERAL/ OF THE AMERICAN/ ARMIES. 1775./ RESIGN’D THE/ COMMAND. 1783./ ELECTED PRESIDENT/ OF THE UNITED/ STATES./ 1789.
