DescriptionCircular image of a full bust portrait of George Washington, set within a porthole surrounded by brickwork. He is wearing a military uniform, with the coat open, and his gloved right hand is thrust in the breast of his waistcoat. Below is a plaque with Washington’s name engraved on it. Published in John Andrews, History of the War with America, France, Spain, and Holland: Commencing in 1775 and Ending in 1783 (London: John Fielding and John Jarvis,1785), 1: 354-355.
