DescriptionComitia Americana medal commemorating William Washington's actions at the Battle of Cowpens on January 17, 1781. Obverse depicts Washington on horseback, facing the viewer's left, as he leads his 3rd Continental Light Dragoons against the British cavalry, a winged Victory overhead. Reverse features a seven-line motto in Latin honoring Washington. Plain edge, marked at bottom with an anchor and the word "ARGENT." In red covered box; "Medallic Art Co." printed in dark red at inside cover.William Washington at Cowpens medal. Original dies.
