DescriptionFull bust portrait of George Washington, facing to the left and wearing a black coat, a cravat, and a ribbon tying back his hair. The image is enclosed in an elaborate printed frame, with a star at each corner. Above the frame is an eagle with the shield of the United States, with a scroll below it that says " E Pluribus Unum." Below the frame is an American flag wrapped around a spear, with the word "Washington," written on it.Published in William Pinnock, A Catechism of the History of America, 3rd ed. (London: Printed for G. & W.B. Whittaker, 1823).
