DescriptionThe recto depicts King George I of England in profile facing left in military uniform wearing a laurel wreath surrounded by the word "GEORGIVS REX." The verso contains a seated figure of Britannia surmounting the date "1722" and surrounded by the word "BRITANNIA." The coin is accompanied by a note that reads "BRITISH HALF PENNY/ 1722/ FROM MOUNT VERNON, VA/ GEORGE WASHINGTON'S HOME." English George I farthing.
