DescriptionCircular medal. Obverse displays bas-relief of three men’s heads, shown in profile, facing left, the upper ones overlapping the lower, from left to right: George Washington, Admiral de Grasse, and Count Rochambeau; with raised lettering around the edge: “WASHINGTON — DE GRASSE — ROCHAMBEAU / MDCCLXXXI–MCMXXXI”. Reverse displays schematic map of Yorktown battlefield, with sailing ships in water and fleur-de-lis prominently shown to left, with raised lettering in the upper half: “CAPITULATION / DE / YORK TOWN” and below “P.TURIN’. Baker K-454 (pg. 199). Uncirculated.
