DescriptionCircular, open-woven creamware basket with a twisted or rope foot. One band of intertwined or twisted lacing is woven in midway up its sides. A bead or ball is placed on top of the rim at each join with a side strip. Solid, flat bottom is molded with a basketweave design on its interior with a diamond and rays in a circle at the center of the well. Pale cream body with a clear glaze having a yellow cast.MarkingsImpressed on the reverse of the basket, at center: "843" within a rectangle; a beehive or kiln-shaped character (formed from a demilune atop two rectangles, separated by spaces); "N"; "O".
