DescriptionLarge fragment of wallpaper, taken from the Washington Bedchamber at Mount Vernon. The fragment consists of at least three layers of paper. The portions of the uppermost paper (labeled in pencil, A) are printed in grisaille with elements of a rococo revival pattern. The second layer (labeled in pencil, B) appears to display traces of a swag pattern printed in orange and black. The pattern on the lowermost layer (labeled in pencil, D) cannot be discerned. Traces of plaster remain on the lowermost layers.
