DescriptionObverse shows undraped bust facing (viewer's) right, with legend around the perimeter: "GEORGE WASHINGTON BORN FEB. 22 1732 DIED DEC. 14, 1799". Bust is based on Houdon bust. Reverse shows bust of George Washington facing (viewer's) right, set on pedestal atop truncated pyramid with shelves filled with display of medals, surrounded by a circular railing supported by turned banisters. Legend around the perimeter: "WASHINGTON CABINET OF MEDALS, U.S. MINT / INAUGURATED FEB. 22 1860".Baker-326 (pg. 157).
