DescriptionA northwest view of the front facade of the Mount Vernon Mansion. The scene includes dependency buildings to the right and left of the mansion. In the background is a cloudscape in the sky, as well as a number of trees framing the mansion. In the foreground of the print are a number of figures. From left to right: there is a dog, child and man and woman standing outside of a dependancy building facing right. The woman holds a parsol. Further in the fregraound is an African American man holding a bundle under his arm. The central two figures are gentlem with their backs to the print's viewer facing the mansion facade. The gentleman on the left gestures towards the mansion. Pictured, there is also a man under one of the trees the house entrance. To the extreme righ tof the scene is a horse tied to a post.c.1841
