DescriptionThis half-length portrait depicts George Washington wearing a military uniform with the Society of Cincinnati medal on his left lapel. He cradles a sword in his right arm and holds a map in his hands. To his left is a table holding a tricorn hat. Behind him is a drawn curtain revealing a landscape with rows of military tents on a plain in front of a mountain. Below the image in text is an eagle with a shield in front of it and a scroll with the words "E Pluribus Unum" engraved on it.
