DescriptionSquare card table with a single scratch-beaded drawer on four cabriole legs (three fixed, left rear fly) with shell-carved knees and ogee knee blocks terminating in slipper feet on pads; two-board top with squared edges meets in a butt joint and is secured with brass hinges at sides, no leaf-edge tenons; overhanging fixed board screwed to frame; interior of top features a relieved playing surface covered in green leather and four carved counter wells set towards the right end of each side; rectangular frame has solid front and side rails and a double rear rail exhibiting filler construction, the outer or hinge rail is divided into two sections: the fixed hinge rail is nailed to a shim and is attached to the fly rail with a five-finger hinge; plane flyleg; reproduction handle with shaped brass backplate and bail handle at center of drawer front.
