DescriptionShallow, round saucer with a slightly raised foot rim decorated with a view of the east front of Mount Vernon Mansion. The central reserve features a painted landscape scene consisting of a house at the crest of a hill, two fences, three small animals, and several clumps of trees. The central scene is surrounded by a narrow black band encircled by a gilt band. The outer rim is painted with grape leaves, grapes, and grape vines edged with narrow lines of gray and gilding. A narrow band of bellflowers is set between the central reserve and the outer banding. The entire composition is painted en grisaille with gilt highlights.
