DescriptionCircular saucer with a plain rim and straight, flared sides on a shallow foot ring, decorated at the center of the well with a black, transfer-printed image of the east front of Mount Vernon. In the scene, a man holding a horse is visible in the foreground, and a man standing near the Palladian window on the north side of the mansion is visible in the background. The whole is titled “Mount Vernon Seat of the late Genl Washington.” The edge of the rim is gilded.
