DescriptionCircular cup with a gilded rim, wide mouth, straight, flared sides, and a broken scroll handle on a shallow foot ring. On the exterior front of the body, opposite the handle, the cup features a transfer-printed image of the east front of Mount Vernon, with a man holding a horse visible in the foreground, and a man standing near the Palladian window on the north side of the mansion in the background. The whole is titled “Mount Vernon Seat of the late Genl Washington.” The cup's interior has a gilded band near the top, and traces of a black, transfer-printed scene in the well. The outer face of the handle is touched with gilding.
