Virtue Weeping over the Tomb of George Washington

Numerous memorial prints were made to George Washington, even outside of the United States. This rare print was published in England within six months of his death. A personification of virtue as a weeping woman mourns the death of Washington at his tomb beneath a weeping willow tree.
