DescriptionA:
Black-painted armchair with caned, swept-back, rectangular, seat back, caned sides, and caned trapezoidal seat on two square, tapered, front legs and two square, swept-back back legs. Casters with tapered square cups cap the front feet and casters with a flat top plate have been inserted into the back feet. An eyehook protrudes from the sides of each front leg, at the level with the seat rail. Evidence of a succession of finishes (green and white) is visible at the losses in the black paint.

B:
Black-painted armchair with caned, swept-back, rectangular, seat back and sides, and a trapezoidal, oilcloth seat on two square, tapered, front legs and two square, swept-back back legs. Casters with cylindrical cups are attached to the front feet, which have been carved out to fit within them, and casters with a flat top plate have been inserted into the back feet. An eyehook protrudes from the sides of each front leg, at the level with the seat rail. Evidence of a succession of finishes (green and white) is visible in the losses at the black paint.

The remains of the original cane seat are visible on the underside of the chair, below the oilcloth seat and the supporting textiles and webbing

C:
Black-painted, square stool with caned top and four, square, tapered legs with casters capping the feet. Four large cast brass hooks are screwed to the top of the legs on two opposite sides of the stool, enabling it to be attached to a caned armchair on either side. Evidence of a succession of finishes (green and white) is visible at the losses in the black paint.

Gold-colored, plush or velvet box cushions accompany the set. Two are intended for the back of each chair, two for the seat of each chair, and one for the top of the stool.
