DescriptionShallow circular dish with a double-ogee shaped rim on a shallow foot ring, transfer-printed in underglaze cobalt blue, with a gilded rim interior. The center of the well features a right-anchored landscape with a pavilion complex, willow tree, and the fronds of a branch emerging at right along the side. A single-masted ship appears in the river at center and there is a flat-top bridge in the foreground at bottom. The rim interior has a ban of diagonal dashes, a starred network band, a “rain and cloud” border of diagonal dashes and a scalloped line, a gilded line, and a final, lower band of spearheads and double dots.Published ReferencesSusan Gray Detweiler, George Washington's Chinaware (New York: Harry N.
