DescriptionHeart shaped valentine or pincushion, with yellow damask on front and red silk on back, a red ribbon with loop hanger attached to the top and a silk-covered wooden bobbin attached to the base. Straight pins with black and white heads are inserted into the sides of the pincushion, in an alternating pattern. The red silk back is embroidered with the outline of a heart in white threads in a decorative stitch. The bobbin tassel is composed of wool hanging thread of red, yellow, and brown twisted together, a spiral-turned, tear-drop shaped wooden bobbin covered in maroon silk with yellow silk highlights around the neck, and a pom-pom or tassel of yellow and red wool attached at its base.
