DescriptionChild's walking stool with square top and circular opening at center, on four splayed legs with hoof feet and casters. One caster is made completely of iron; the other three have ceramic rollers. The legs are through-tenoned into the square top and each secured with a single nail from the underside. Scribe marks are visible at the tops of the legs and on the underside of the top. Traces of red paint are visible on two of the legs, and there are occasional spots of green, blue, and white paint throughout the stool. An eye ring is affixed to the underside of one side of the top. The remains of eight tacks or nails, arranged in a zig-zag pattern, are present on one side of the top. On one side of the top, two large rosehead nails were used to repair an early crack, and two early nails are present in the foot with the iron caster.
