DescriptionFull-length portrait of George Washington standing before the battlefield of Trenton. Washington is wearing a military uniform and is standing in a contrapposto stance with his right foot forward. His left hand is resting on the hilt of a sword on his belt, and in his right he holds a spyglass. In the background there is a young man holding the reins of a rearing horse. Beyond the young man can be seen a battle with a ruined cart and cannon just behind the figure of Washington. On the right of Washington is a blasted tree. The print sheet has been trimmed.
