DescriptionFull length portrait of George Washington, wearing a military uniform with the coat open and standing in a contrapposto stance with his right foot forward. In his right hand he holds an open scroll, and in the other he has a sword which he is balancing his weight on. In the background is a column, with a curtain draped in front of it. The curtain is pulled back to reveal on the left side of the image a landscape with a field, buildings, and mountains in the distance. In the field is an American flag leaning on a group of stacked muskets, and there are several other groups of stacked muskets.
