DescriptionThis is a hand-colored lithograph print based on an original painting by C.B. King. It depicts Red Jacket wearing his 1792 Washington Peace Medal, which was made by silversmith Joseph Richardson of Philadelphia. Red Jacket was a Seneca Chief of the Wolf Clan in western New York who was known for his oratory and negotiation skills in diplomacy for his people. MarkingsPrinted in ink on the pendant worn by the figure: "George Washington / Red Jacket / 17?2".
