H. H. Houston

BiographyLittle is known of Houston, but it is believed that he came from Ireland. An H. Houston is recorded as working in stippled engraving in Dublin in 1791, and his works appeared in the "Hiberian Magazine". H. H. Houston first appears in America in Philadelphia in 1796, but disapears from the record by 1798. He is considered to be one of the earliest skilled stippled engravers in America.
