DescriptionThis silver ladle has a circular bowl with swage-formed drop (worn) and a long handle that curves back to a pointed, downturned end. It is stamped with "HW" three times on the back of the handle, the mark of Henry White, a Fredericksburg, VA, silversmith active between c. 1788 and 1827. The front of the handle is inscribed in foliate script with the initials "JEW" who has yet to be identified.
