DescriptionEarly view of Mount Vernon; oil on canvas showing East Front from the northeast, with the balustrade across the piazza, a summerhouse on the south section of the lawn, and a framework of some sort in the center of the lawn. The mansion's shutters are closed and there are several groups of people: a couple on the north end of the piazza; another in the center of lawn; in the foreground a group comprised of a couple, a girl with a dog, a boy rolling a hoop, and an older man reading. The sky is blue with some clouds and a number of boats can be seen on the Potomac.Markingslabels on back -
