DescriptionA:
Two-part, die-stamped silver candlestick with vertical seams featuring a baluster-shaped shaft reeded on its lower half and an inverted trumpet-shaped, reeded base filled with a turned mahogany core; pierced socket with mahogany fitting is affixed to the flared drip pan; the edge of the foot and the lip of the socket are engraved with matching bands of flowers and leaves.

Colorless, blown glass lamp shade with a tulip-shaped body and cylindrical neck.
MarkingsA: Six hallmarks or stamps on edge of base (from left to right): partial maker's mark featuring the letter "c"; British sterling standard mark features a lion passant in a shield; mark of the company featuring the profile of a crown in a round-cornered pentagon; date letter features the Roman capital letter "H" in a canted-corner square; duty mark featuring the profile of the sovereign.
