DescriptionBronze die-struck medal featuring a male bust in profile on the obverse and an inscription surrounded by oak branches on the reverse.

Obverse: Bust of Benjamin Franklin, in profile, facing left. Inscribed: “BENJ. FRANKLIN NATUS BOSTON XVII JAN.;” inscribed in exergue: “MDCCVI”.

Reverse: Oak branches in the form of a wreath surrounding inscription: “ERIPUIT COELO / FULMEN / SCEPTRUM QUE / TYRANNIS.” Inscribed in exergue: “SCULPSIT ET DICAVIT / AUG. DUPRE ANNO / MDCCLXXXVI.”
