DescriptionA: (Print) This print is an early landscape view of Washington’s New Tomb. A pathway composed of wood planks extends from the lower right to the entrance of the tomb, which is a pointed arch in the center of a red brick wall that rises to a central bay with a brick pilaster on either side of the entrance. Several figures are gathered in two groups front of the tomb, including five woman in gowns and shawls, three men in long coats and top hats, and two children.

B: (Frame) The frame is a period gilt wood piece that appears to be original to print; old glass glazing.

MarkingsPrinted in ink above the tomb within the image: “Within this enclosure / Rest / the remains of Gen.
