DescriptionHorizontal landscape mourning scene depicting a square pedestal and a large classical urn displaying small, bust portraits of George and Martha Washington underneath a willow tree. Three figures (two young women flanking a young man) approach the urn from the left. In the center of the background is the west front of the Mount Vernon Mansion. The composition also includes willow, oak, and elm trees.
