DescriptionFull-length portrait of George Washington in general's uniform standing before a military engagement. He looks to the (proper) right, holding a black tricorn hat in his (proper) right hand and resting his left arm on the saddle of his gray horse, shown from behind at (proper) left. In the distance, the sky is filled with reddish light above the low horizon to reveal a military fortification with flag and ships on the water; light to very dark gray clouds of smoke fill the rest of the sky. Modern, molded and gilded wood frame.
