Descriptionthis print is a portrait of a younger Martha Washington (previously Martha Custis). She is depicted in a three quarter length view, seated, with her head resting on her right arm, which is supported by a column cornice. She has pearls strung through her hair and wears a loose flowing gown with wide open sleeve. In the background, on the left, is an open window through which can be seen a landscape of buildings dotting a coastline. After 1776
